Palm Springs International ShortFest FollowUp

The 16th annual Palm Springs international Shortfest is underway and will run through June 28. Out of 3,000 worldwide entries, 314 short films are being shown packaged into 52 "themed" programs. There is plenty of star power present too, either behind the camera, acting or providing the voices for animated shorts.
The L.A. Times reports that an 18-minute film, Pax, directed and narrated by Glenn Close, is one of the featured presentations at the festival. Stars appearing on film include Alicia Witt, Matthew Rhys, John Mahoney, Lili Taylor and AnnaLynne McCord, while Helena Bonham-Carter, Meryl Streep, Spike Jonze and Forest Whitaker can be heard voicing animated characters. Kirsten Dunst directs her contemporary take on the Christ story in "Bastards" and James Franco has written and directed three shorts that will be shown.

Palm Springs International Shortfest 2010

The Palm Springs International ShortFest has been moved to June this year. The Festival will run from the 22nd through the 28th and will present an amazing selection of more than 320 new short films, programmed in 90-minute packages featuring a splendid array of thematically-linked stories, including a dazzling selection of comedies, thrillers, films noir, dramas, romances, animated shorts and documentaries. This year's Festival line-up will include an especially exciting showcase of special programs, theme parties, seminars and master classes. The Wellness and World Music Festival and the Lido Palms Resort and Spa in Desert Hot Springs

On October 9 and 10, 2010, Desert Hot Springs will host The Wellness and World Music Festival. This event which will take place at Mission Hills Park will feature world-renowned musical artists, inspirational and expert Wellness speakers and leaders, treatment centers and healthy food sampling stations. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Boys and Girls Club of Coachella Valley.
Several well-known and unique World Music artists have been invited to perform and the list of performing artists will be provided in a subsequent announcement.
